Anapanasati Meditation process is nowadays utilising as one of the sources for pain relief for sports personalities and students. It is a ancient technic used instead of using medicines or antibiotics.
What is Anapanasati :
Ana means In - Breath; Apana means Out - Breath; Sati means To - Be - One - With. It means to keep one's total attention and awareness only on one's normal breathing process.
No mantra to chant, no deity is to entertained, no pranayama, etc are necessary while using this. It is a typical process of practice. Simply needs to sit under a pyramid designed as per the calculations at regular intervals.
Any comfortable sitting posture can be taken. Spine should be as comfortable as possible. Hands should be clasped, legs should be crossed and eyes should be closed.
Process of Meditation
A person who wants to practice it, has to close his/her eyes and simply relax the body. Feel comfort while sitting, shift muscles, stretch and relax, make sure your spine and neck are not held stiffly, there is no stiffness here and just relax.
Observe the breath, inhale and exhale slowly, keep the breath sink in and out and follow the breath, be still be your breath and.that is all.
How Long To Meditate ?
There is no maximum time for this practice, one should sit as much time until he or she feels complete relax. Physical body has its own natural and easy rhythm of the breath.
In meditation, the mind has to become totally attuned to the normal rhythmic nature of the breath of the physical body. Exercises such as deep breathing should not be resorted to. Holding the breath inside, or outside, is not to be attempted. However, in the language of Spiritual Science, the term meditation refers to emptiness of the mind... or... making the mind empty.
