Vizag: A special account will be opened for the development of sports in the city, announces B. Ramanjaneyulu, Commissioner Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.

Speaking to newsmen on Monday, he announced Rs. 25,000 from his August month salary as first donation to this account, followed by 5 lakh rupees each from Malla Vijay Prasad, MLA (Visakha- West)- CMD of Wellfare Group of Industries and Mavuri Venkata Ramana, CMD of CMR Shopping Mall from the same dais.

Ramanjaneyulu was very disappointed on the situation of Sports development in the city and through this accounts, national and international events that are venued in Vizag will be supported both finance and administerial activities. Later, he released poster of 5th National Beach Kabaddi Championship scheduled from 25th of this month.

About 400 players are taking part in Men and Women categories during this tournament. Malla Vijay Prasad- MLA (Visakha- West), Mavuri Venkata Raman, CMR Shopping Mall, Pyla Mutyala Naidu, Floor Leader (TDP- GVMC), E. Prasada Rao, Kabaddi Coach (Sports Authority of India- Visakhapatnam), T. Kishore Kumar, Administrative Officer - SAI Visakhapatnam and others present.
