Bike rally to protest pollution against Port Trust

Vizag: Protest against Visakhapatnam Port Trust authorities over pollution in old city continuous on the third day Friday. Victims of the old city have conducted a bike rally from Kota Veedhi to Purna market.

Campaigning the activities of Port Trust which dumps waste use in huge quantity at the residential locations. Rally proceed from Kota Veedhi through Kotha Road, Velampeta to Purnamarket.

Earlier, Communist Party of India (Marxist) - (CPI-M) activists had burnt the effigy of VPT chairman at the Arch in old city. Mr. Rajeswara Rao of CPM warned the VPT authorities, if they try to evacuate the old city, the agitations would be severe.

Speaking to newsmen one of the residents, said there would public rally on Monday ie 21 st November from Kota Veedhi old city to Collectorate and passes through the main road with a cause to protect communal harmonay in the old city by retaining the Venkateswara temple, Church and Mosque. They will protest at the collector to get their issue solved.
