863 Crores sanctioned for city development projects

Vizag: The Union Government has sanctioned about 863 Crore rupees to complete various projects to Vizag, announced member of Parliament D. Purandheswari. Addressing the gathering at the 16th anniversary of Visakha Air Travellers Association (VATA) on Saturday, she said, about seven fly over bridges in the city to avoid traffic problems, development of highways, etc will be completed with these funds by next few years.

As City of Destiny is growing as fast as any other city in the world, and needs more support to get development, she added. Night landing of flights is a complex issue and two different organisations are involved one is Indian Navy and other is Airport Authority of India, she stated.

It is only air station that runs by two different authorities, usually, Indian Navy doesn't permit common requests apart from their wish.

If any on the Flight service company agrees to run 24 hour service, it would be easier to get acceptance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, she mentioned.

When comes to Waltair Railway Division, it is difficult to provide separate Railway Zone according to Railway Ministry, but there would be a proposal to merge with South Central Railway, she mentioned.
