Queens Baton relay to city
Vizag: The sign of Common Wealth Games to be held in New Delhi will come to city on August 16, said AK Parida, Principal Secretary, AP Sports and Youth Services. On this occasion a run will be organised in city with sports personalities, more than 3,000 NCC cadets including Eastern Naval Command.
He invited all the Vizagites, corporate sectors, industries to take part in it. Population of Vizage is now beyond 20 lakh, out of that minimum one lakh are expected, he added.
The torch would reach Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium by 6 pm on the same day, where cultural programmes and honouring session to famous sports personalities in the city would be organised.
It is our duty to implement 'Right to Play' to children especially in interior locations. The Baton will come to Vizag by flight at 1 pm on August 16.
