City paid homage to YSR on first death anniversary

Vizag: City of Destiny recollected the memories of departed leader Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy, former chief minister on his first death anniversary.

Minister for Tribal Welfare Balaraju installed the statue of YSR at the beach road. He referred some of the policies like free electricity, free land pattas, 25 paise interest self help groups implemented by former chief minister.

Later he distributed 6 crore 55 lakhs and 25 thousand rupees loans to self help groups on this occasion.

Abhaya Hastam gave the livelihood for number of poor. P. Janardhana Rao, city mayor said, YSR had dedicated his life to the needy and poor.

Under the leadership of him, the city has witnessed tremendous development, IT hub, JNNURM houses, beautification etc among them. J. Shyamala Rao, district collector pointed out the free higher and professional education for poor and ST, SC, BC and minorities, which is unreachable to most of the students.

Later a photo exhibition on YSR was inaugurated by the minister followed by the blood donation camp organised by Andhra University. Tynala Vijaya Kumar, MLA (North) along with Redcross, Care Nursing hospital staff, students from various colleges were donated.

On the occasion of first death anniversary of Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy, City Congress activists organised number of seva programmes at all the wards in city. Special rituals at the temples, mosques, blood donation, medical camps and feeding to the poor are among them.
