Another youth from Vizag dies of drowning in US

Vizag: A youth from the city died in a boat mishap in USA today, according to his parents here. This is for the second time that a Vizag youth has died of drowning in the US.

Samuel Joseph, working as assistant general manager of BHPV, Visakhapatnam and his wife G Hemalatha, an assistant professor in Microbiology department of Andhra University said their son, Joseph Smile (23) had gone to study MS Computers in Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge of USA 18 months back.

He was pursuing his study staying in a hostel.They said Smile had called yesterday morning and told them that he was going for boating with his friends. Today morning, his friends informed them that Smile died while boating.

Smile had completed BTech Computer Science from Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering, Chinthalavalasa in Vizianagaram district before leaving for the US for higher studies.

Speaking to Express, Commissioner of Police J Purnachandra Rao said he had informed the US Embassy in New Delhi about the incident but was yet to get any details. On May 30, Daniel Navin (26), a software professional with a Chennai-based company deputed to the US, had drowned while boating.

Daniel was the son of AV Prasada Rao, Chemistry professor in Andhra University.
