Vizag: Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) will show the remedies to the problems of Eastren Power Distribution Company of AP (APEPDCL) consumer announced, V.Krishna its chairman.
He appealed to consumers he said the consumers could get fast and time-bound redressal for their grievances as per the Electricity Act 2003 and hence the Forum is conducting the meetings in each distribution circle in viz., 1st Monday - Rajahmundry, 2nd Monday - Srikakulam, 3rd Monday - Eluru, 4th Monday - Vizianagaram for creating awareness among the consumers.
Further he stated that Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) is giving guidelines from time to time for itís functioning, implementation of guaranteed standards of performance as approved by the APERC, compensation payable to the consumers in case of failure to maintain the prescribed standards and for deficiency in service.
The consumers can get appropriate remedies in every circle for delay in giving new service connection (time limit 30 days), complaints in billing (within due date for payment), replacement of meter (30 days), shifting of service or meter (25 days), name transfer (7 days), change of tariff (7 days) and response to complaints (10 days).
The CGRF which received 156 complaints in 2006 disposed of 156 petitions. Similarly against the 295 complaints received in 2007, 295 were settled and 344 petitions were disposed of in 2008 against the 344 complaints received. In 2009, 323 complaints recived and solved. At present in this year 294 complaints recived till today and solved 202 and remaining were under enquiry. Till today the CGRF received over 1798 complaints.
Further he stated that the consumers may approach this forum through post or phone numbers also for solving their grievances. The consumers who are having problems can send their quarries to the Chairperson, Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, APEPDCL,New Bulding, 3rd Flour, Corporate Office,Visakhapatnam, Fax No. 0891-2701055 or contact cell no 9440814199 he stated.
ìIf the consumers are not satisfied with the Forumís orders for their problems, they can approach the Vidyut Ombudsman, Hyderabadî he noted. CGRF meeting on 1st November at Rajamundhry Eastern Power Distribution Company of A.P, Limited (APEPDCL), Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) will conduct Consumers awareness meeting and public hearing at Rajamundhry, APEPDCL Operation Circle Office from 11 am on (Monday) November 1st, according to V.Krishna, Chair Person of CGRF. He stated in a release issued from Corporate Office, Visakhapatnam on Friday. At the meeting consumers can air their problems including delay in sanctioning of power connection, low voltage, billing, etc.
