Surroundings play a vital role in child's behaviour according to a psychological research. It implies on the present activities of students' life. Prof. MVR Raju, a psychological counselor played a good role in various case studies. He is presently working as professor in Department of Psychology (Andhra University). According to him, disorders in a student begins at his or her home itself.
Child duplicates the activities of a parent even in smoking, drinking habits. Five elements in the environment play motivation factors in child behaviour development... viz.. Parental atmosphere, School atmosphere, Teachers, Peer group and Culture.
Parental Atmosphere:
There is general consensus around parents providing the basic necessities, with increasing interest in children's rights within the home environment.
Providing physical security (safety of child's health, life, shelter, nourishment)
Providing physical development (right education, importance to child's attitude, sports and good habits)
Providing intellectual security (in which a child's mind can develop, ability to learn good things)
To provide an atmosphere of peace and justice in family, where no one's dignity is encroached upon.
To provide "no-fear," "no-threat, "no-verbal abuse" environment
To spend bonding times and share wonderful moments with children
Try to explain the financial status of the home to child and let him know the clear picture of his family.
In the same way School Atmosphere has a major role in shaping child into a good person.
Apart from the home, the second impact factor is school. The teacher is the role model for child. He or she should be very careful before children, how he behaves in classroom, after the class also implies. Next is peer group.
Peer group is directly attracts the child towards good or bad habits. At this state, the child needs the parental care and teacher's attention. It is the duty of a parent to have a look, whether their child going in a right way. If not, try to create awareness regarding the right way.
Finally, Culture... This influence on the child is little less, when compared to other factors, but it is very dangerous. Mainly entertainment elements i.e. television, movies, pubs, parties, etc.
Dr. Raju says, these are the major motivating factors. Awareness and training sessions will clear all the disorders in the minds of child as well as parent. Ethical values should be taught right from the childhood. It is mandatory that every school has a psychologist to clear the laziness, dullness, academic fear etc. A verdict on the same was issued by the Supreme Court of India, he added.
