Vizag: A Vizag-based software engineer, Daniel Navin (26) met with a watery grave after the tube in which he was travelling capsized in the United States last night. Two of his friends were lucky enough to escape from the jaws of death.
A short circuit is suspected to have caused the tube to sink in a river in Arizona, reports reaching the family said.
Navin was employed with Chennai-based software firm, Syntel Software, and he was sent to the US by the firm on a two-year project for a US-based software company, Emex.
Navin was recently promoted as a team leader and was sent to the US for twoyear special project,’’ Navin’s sister Soujanya told.
According to information reaching the family, Navin and his friends went on a weekend tube ride in Phoenix.While the vessel was in the middle of the waters, The tube capsized because of the rapids in the "Salt River". Navin drowned in the water while life guards on the boat saved his two friends,’’ the family members said.
The news came as a rude shock for Navin’s family.He told us that he would be visiting us in December after the completion of the project,’’ Soujanya said.Navin completed his BE (electronics) from Gitam University two years ago amd joined the firm in Chennai.
Navin’s father, A V Prasada Rao, is chemistry professor in Andhra University.
